As our Payroll Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of a critical business function, overseeing accurate and timely fortnightly pays while supporting a workforce that spans office, workshop, field service and site-based roles.

About the role
We’re seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator to lead the end-to-end payroll function for TFS. You’ll oversee accurate fortnightly payroll for approximately 215 employees, ensuring compliance with awards, agreements, legislation and internal processes across a varied workforce.
This is an exciting chance to step into a hands‑on payroll leadership role within a respected specialist business. You’ll have scope to strengthen payroll processes,
improve reporting and controls, and partner closely with Finance, HR and operational leaders to support the business as it continues to grow.

What will you do?
- Manage end‑to‑end fortnightly payroll processing for approximately 215 employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
- Ensure timely and accurate submissions to the ATO, including Single Touch Payroll (STP) and other statutory reporting.
- Process and manage superannuation, leave, termination payments, workers' compensation, allowances and employment‑related tax obligations.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and bank and provide accurate reporting and payroll analysis to key stakeholders.
- Maintain strong payroll controls and support continuous improvement across payroll systems, processes and reporting.
- Collaborate with Finance, HR and operational leaders to resolve payroll matters and support business needs.
- Provide timely support for employee payroll queries, ensuring a high standard of service and confidentiality.
- Provide support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
What skills and experience do you need?
- Strong payroll experience, notably within a hands‑on environment supporting operational, field‑based, trade, service or industrial workforces.
- Strong understanding of employment legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and payroll compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage end‑to‑end payroll with a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Experience with payroll systems, reporting, reconciliations and process improvement.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for payroll reporting and analysis.
- Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
- The ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
