We are seeking a dedicated Dispensary Technician to join the team at Priceline Pharmacy Dubbo. This is a full-time position based in Dubbo, NSW 2830. As a Dispensary Technician, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations, supporting our pharmacists in delivering exceptional pharmaceutical services to our customers. This position is essential to ensuring that prescriptions are accurately and efficiently dispensed whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.
What you'll be doing
- Receiving and processing prescription orders from customers and healthcare providers
- Accurately counting, measuring and packaging medications according to prescriptions and established protocols
- Labelling and preparing medications with clear instructions and safety information
- Maintaining accurate records of all dispensed medications and patient information in compliance with pharmaceutical regulations
- Assisting pharmacists with medication screening and verification processes
- Managing inventory and stock rotation to ensure medication availability and freshness
- Providing excellent customer service by answering general enquiries about medications and directing complex questions to the pharmacist
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe dispensary environment
- Operating pharmacy computer systems and point-of-sale equipment with accuracy
- Supporting the pharmacist with patient counselling preparation and administrative tasks
What we're looking for
- A relevant qualification as a Dispensary Technician or equivalent pharmacy technician credential, or willingness to obtain appropriate qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling medications and processing prescriptions
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers, healthcare providers and pharmacy staff
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and basic pharmacology principles
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management systems and computer software
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to pharmacy regulations and legislation
- The ability to work as part of a team whilst maintaining focus on individual responsibilities
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Reliability and a professional approach to work
- Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is highly desirable
