RAIR Commercial Air Conditioning is seeking a HVAC Design Manager to join our team in Geebung, QLD.

This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to lead the design and development of creative HVAC solutions. As Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical direction of HVAC projects, ensuring they meet rigorous engineering standards and deliver exceptional value to our clients. This role is pivotal to our continued growth and reputation for excellence in Design and Construct projects in south east QLD.

Key responsibilities

- Lead and manage HVAC designs, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight to both in house staff and contractors.
- Oversee the development and design of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Direct the creation of detailed design documentation, specifications, and technical drawings for HVAC installations and solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and external stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver tailored HVAC solutions.
- Review and validate designs for technical accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness before project implementation.
- Manage design budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within allocated resources.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the design function to enhance productivity and quality.
- Stay current with emerging HVAC technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide quality assurance across all design deliverables.
- Support business development by providing technical expertise for tenders, proposals, and new client engagements.

What we're looking for

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 8 years' experience in HVAC design and engineering, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity
- Demonstrated expertise in HVAC system design,



including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration principles
- Proficiency with industry-standard CAD software and HVAC design tools
- Strong knowledge of relevant Australian building codes, standards, and regulations (such as AS/NZS standards)
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop engineering teams
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to provide innovative technical solutions
- Experience with energy efficiency, sustainability, and low-carbon HVAC design is advantageous
