Health, Safety, Enviroment and Quality (HSEQ) Coordinator
Due to continued growth across the Hunter Valley, KCE Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated HSEQ Coordinator to join our team, based in the Singleton / Muswellbrook region.
This role will support a diverse portfolio of mining, government and development projects, working closely with site teams to strengthen and sustain a high‑performing HSEQ culture across our operations.
The successful applicant will be a strong communicator and coach, capable of building trusted relationships with supervisors, project teams and management, while supporting practical and effective HSEQ outcomes on site.
About the role
In this role, you will provide HSEQ support across allocated projects, assisting in the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of KCE’s HSEQ Management System. You will work closely with operational and management personnel, and collaborate with the HSEQ Manager to ensure legislative compliance, system effectiveness and continual improvement across the business.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
3+ years’ experience in a HSEQ role within the civil construction, mining and/or infrastructure sectors
Strong knowledge and understanding of WHS and Environmental legislation, Codes of Practice and Standards
Demonstrated skills in hazard identification, risk management and incident investigation
Proven ability to engage, coach and influence at all levels of the organisation
Experience working with ISO‑aligned HSEQ Management Systems, including implementation, monitoring and auditing
Solid written, computer and reporting skills
A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites in Singleton and Muswellbrook as required
Certificate IV Training and Assessment
Qualifications in auditing and/or incident investigation
Return to Work Coordinator qualifications
Experience working on government‑funded projects and within operational mining environments
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Support the implementation, maintenance and review of the HSEQ Management System
Conduct regular site inspections, audits and assessments to monitor HSEQ performance and identify opportunities for improvement
Provide practical HSEQ leadership, guidance and support to Project Managers, Supervisors and Engineers
Coach and train site personnel in risk management processes, including the effective use of HSEQ documentation
Participate in the review of site risks and ensure appropriate controls are identified and implemented
Assist with the preparation and review of Safe Work Method Statements and task‑based risk assessments
Monitor and support compliance with legislative, client and system requirements
Assist with the management and investigation of incidents, near misses and non‑conformances
Ensure accurate HSEQ records, registers and reports are maintained across allocated projects
Assist with site inductions, onboarding and training coordination as required
Support contractor management in accordance with KCE’s HSEQ requirements
Participate in workers compensation, rehabilitation and return‑to‑work processes where required
