We're looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join our team and take ownership of payroll operations across the Group.
About the opportunity
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, this is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day payroll function while providing guidance and support to the Senior Payroll Officer. Please note that this role can be based in Brisbane (North Lakes) or in Sydney (Bankstown).
We have recently implemented SuccessFactors across the business, providing a modern platform to support our people and payroll operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working with systems, driving continuous improvement and helping optimise payroll processes in a growing business.
Working closely with People & Culture, Finance and leaders across the organisation, you'll ensure payroll processes run smoothly, compliance obligations are met and employees receive the support they need when payroll questions arise.
You'll also have the opportunity to identify and implement improvements that enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency and the overall employee experience.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead and support the payroll team to deliver accurate and timely payroll outcomes
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing across multiple pay cycles
- Ensure payroll data is accurate, up to date and compliant with legislative requirements
- Manage payroll enquiries and assist with resolving complex payroll matters
- Oversee Single Touch Payroll, superannuation, taxation and other compliance reporting requirements
- Manage payroll reconciliations, reporting and audit requirements
- Work closely with People & Culture and Finance teams to support business needs
- Maintain payroll systems and coordinate upgrades and enhancements when required
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, efficiency and service delivery
- Build positive working relationships with stakeholders across the business
About you
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys payroll, takes pride in accuracy and enjoys helping people.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Officer
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation and superannuation requirements
- Experience leading or mentoring payroll staff
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through complex payroll matters
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Experience with payroll systems and reporting
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support the wider team
