Senior Project Manager - Hotels Development

The Chance

Reporting to the General Manager – Property Development, you will lead multiple hotel refurbishment, upgrade, expansion and development projects from feasibility through to completion.

Based in Brisbane, you will manage projects remotely with regular travel to PNG, working closely with hotel management, contractors, consultants, architects, engineers and local project representatives. You will be responsible for scope, budgets, programmes, procurement, risk, stakeholder management and delivery within live operating hotels.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead multiple hotel refurbishment, upgrade and expansion projects across PNG.
- Manage projects from feasibility, planning and procurement through construction, handover and defects.
- Develop and manage budgets, programmes, resources, procurement and risk.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, architects, engineers and other stakeholders.
- Plan works within operational hotels while minimising disruption to guests and revenue.
- Provide feasibility and development input for future hotel projects.
- Monitor progress, costs, variations, claims and project risks.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building, fire, safety and regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular project and cost reporting to senior management.
- Develop the capability of local project teams and representatives.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a senior construction or development professional with 10+ years’ project management experience,



ideally across hotels, hospitality, high-rise or commercial developments.

Key requirements include:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction, Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying or similar.
- Proven experience delivering complex projects within live operating environments.
- Strong commercial, procurement, budgeting and contract management skills.
- Experience managing projects remotely across multiple locations or jurisdictions.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive reporting skills.
- Experience in PNG, the Pacific or other developing markets highly regarded.
- International hotel brand experience advantageous.
- Ability to work autonomously, make sound decisions and proactively manage risks.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to develop local teams.
- PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification desirable.

Working Arrangement

Brisbane-based, home-office role working Brisbane business hours and aligned with PNG operations.

Quarterly travel to PNG will be required, with additional travel around key project milestones as necessary.
