Tailored Career Pathways to Develop Your Clinical Interests & Leadership Potential

Looking for a role where you can focus on great clinical work, enjoy genuine flexibility and be supported to thrive professionally and personally?

At Recovery Station, you’ll join a multidisciplinary team with more than 20 years of experience supporting people across aged care and disability. You’ll work across a diverse adult and adolescent caseload in collaboration with passionate Occupational Therapists, Mental Health OT’s, Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners, Exercise Physiologists, Dietitians and Allied Health Assistants.

The Opportunity

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will work alongside people living with disability, their families, carers and support networks in the community to improve quality of life through evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support.

Using a trauma-informed, person-centred and strengths-based approach, you will seek to understand the function of behaviours of concern, identify the unmet needs that may be driving those behaviours, and develop practical strategies that increase safety, independence, emotional regulation and participation in everyday life.

You will be committed to tailoring interventions to each individual's goals, strengths and environment, helping them build skills to create sustainable, positive change and prevent re-engagement in behaviours of concern.

You will provide trauma informed, person-centred, evidence-based interventions and support for people experiencing moderate to severe mental health presentations including: acute and chronic psychotic disorders; schizophrenia; bipolar; generalised anxiety; depression; PTSD; alcohol and drug use disorders; mixed anxiety and depression; dissociative (conversion) disorder; sleep problems and OCD.

Working across community settings you will:

- Conduct Behavioural Analysis and Functional Behaviour Support Plans
- Develop, implement and review Positive Behaviour Support Plans in accordance with the NDIS Behaviour Support Capability Framework (with and without restrictive practice)
- Collect, interpret and analyse behavioural data to guide clinical decision-making

- Deliver personalised, evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions that promote skill development, emotional regulation, autonomy and meaningful community participation

- Support the reduction and elimination of regulated restrictive practices wherever possible, while ensuring participant safety and dignity
- Prepare high-quality clinical reports, assessments and recommendations
- Provide education, coaching and capacity building to participants and their support teams, families, schools, providers and other allied health professionals

Success in this role will come from combining strong clinical reasoning with genuine empathy. You will be someone that enjoys building relationships, thinking critically about behaviour, and empowering people to achieve greater independence, wellbeing and quality of life.

We are looking for a clinician who is available at least 3 days per week.

Qualifications

- Registered as a Proficient or Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Commission
- Current driver's license with use of own vehicle
- Be willing to provide or obtain a current WWCC and NDIS Workers Screening
- Experience providing clinical supervision previously will be highly regarded

The clinicians who thrive with us:

- Enjoy the variety of seeing a diverse range of clients in their homes, aged care facilities, group homes, via telepractice and out in the community
- Appreciate that disability and aged care work means building meaningful relationships and working towards a mix of short and long term goals via therapy and assessments
- Want to be involved in the array of supervision and training we provide, whether it’s one on ones with your Supervisor, paid external courses, monthly team in-services, MDT meetings, our online resource library or our annual companywide training conference
