BREADS by The Standard Market Company is located within the gourmet, fine food emporium at the Brickworks, Southport. Owned and operated by The Standard Market Company, a retail company that specialises in gourmet food, you will be joining a vibrant team and a business that is undergoing major growth.
We have a Casual opportunity for a Bakery Assistant to join our very busy Team.
You must be available for some early morning starts (3:00AM) for morning set up. There will be a variety of shifts available, but early starts and weekend availability is an essential part of this role.
Duties and responsibilities
- Store set up - Packaging, wrapping different bakery products to be displayed on shelves.
- Arranging Cake and Food Displays.
- Slicing breads, heating pies, merchandising, Assisting Bakers / Pastry Chefs with packaging, serving customers.
- Providing exceptional Customer Service.
- Taking orders over the phone.
- Use of POS Registers.
- EFTPOS & Cash Handling.
- Cleaning & Sanitisation of display cabinets and direct work areas.
Qualifications and requirements
- Be available to work 5 days a week, with weekends essential.
- Physically fit as this role requires you to be able to lift and move products regularly.
- Be reliable and hard working.
- Be a team player with good communication skills.
- Have a passion for high-quality baked goods.
- Previous experience within a Bakery workplace will be highly regarded.
