Temporary, Clerk Grade 9/10 ($133,348 - $146,945) opportunity for a period up to 30 June 2027 based in Sydney, CBD.

Expressions of interest are invited from ongoing and temporary employees within the NSW Public Sector who wish to be considered for this temporary role for a period up to 30 June 2027, with the potential to be extended.

About the Role

The Senior Communications Advisor develops and delivers high-quality, accessible and trauma-informed communications that support the Victims of Crime Commissioner to engage effectively with victims of crime, community support groups, government agencies and the broader community. The role leads the creation of compelling communications products, including speeches, stakeholder communications, digital content, presentations and public education materials that promote awareness of victims' rights and the work of the Commissioner.

You will provide strategic communications advice on messaging, stakeholder engagement, reputational considerations and communication opportunities, while translating complex policy, legislative and systemic issues into clear and accessible information. Working closely with policy, engagement and complaints functions, you will identify emerging themes and opportunities to strengthen public understanding, advocacy and community engagement. This is a unique opportunity to help establish the communications function of a recent statutory office and contribute to meaningful outcomes for victims of crime across NSW

The VOCC supports the independent Commissioner to champion victims’ rights, influence systemic change, and strengthen the implementation of the Charter of Victims’ Rights.
