The primary objective of this role is to ensure farm equipment, such as diesel pumps, tractors and harvesters are adequately maintained, kept in safe working order, light-medium fabrication and ultimately helpthe farming team deliver a reliable, quality product for its customers.

There will be a lot of diversity in the role and working at a few different farm locations all within a 10 km radius.

Who You Are

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about their trade or is mechanically minded, and enjoys working in a small team

Are willing to go out of your way to lend a hand or listen. After all, farming is hard enough without our staff not looking out for one and other.

You have decent communications skills, a strong work ethic and ability to problem solve independently

Role Requirements

Cert III in Mechanical or Fabrication Trade would be advantageous however not essential, majority of work is working on Oxbo orange harvesters and taking direction from head mechanic.

Carry out scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs to fleet of large mobile plant, including Harvesters, Tractors, Headers, Trucks, Trailers, and farm vehicles.

Competency in fabrication and working on both electric and hydraulic machinery would be highly regarded.

An excellent work ethic, a strong focus on WHS, and a high degree of reliability and dedication to providing quality workmanship.

Continuous improvement of the preventative maintenance strategy.

Initiate and complete work orders. Ensuring timely close out of work.

Complete tasks assigned based on priority. Ensure assigned work is completed safelyabiding bycompany and statutory quality requirements.

Provide immediate response to break downs. Fault find, diagnose, scope, plan and repair the failed equipment.

Valid Australian Driver’s License

Overhead Crane,



Forklift and Rigging/Dogging license would be highly advantageous too however not essential as company would support training and upskilling.

About the Farms

Our properties are an 8 min drive (9km) North-West of Moree, NSW.We have 280,000 drip irrigated citrus trees, last year we harvested 5,000 tonnes of barley and 11,000 bales of irrigated cotton were picked off the bush.

Our citrus is harvested 9 months of the year for juicing and goes to our other business grovejuice.com.au who supplies our own brands as well as the four major supermarkets and export market in South-East Asia.

We take an active position in the industry via industry-based associations, not-for-profit work, local sponsorships and talking to our mates over a few beers at the pub. Vitonga Farms has strong water & market stability, our staff have good job security and as a result we retain great knowledge as a collective unit.

We will help you with professional training to suit your needs. There will be opportunity to learn how to operate mobile plant or if you are already a handy operator there is opportunity to sit in the aircon and break up your working week.
