Are you an experienced automotive professional with strong leadership skills, exceptional organisational abilities, and a passion for delivering quality workmanship?

Thomson Automotive, part of the highly respected Inchurch Automotive Network, is seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to oversee the daily operations of our busy workshop. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a skilled team of technicians, ensure efficient workflow, and maintain the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

As Workshop Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating workshop activities, managing productivity, supporting the team, and ensuring every vehicle is repaired safely, efficiently, and to manufacturer and dealership standards.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow and maximum productivity.
- Allocate work to technicians based on skill level, workload, and job priority.
- Monitor repair progress and ensure jobs are completed within agreed timeframes.
- Conduct final quality inspections and road tests where required to ensure repairs meet manufacturer and dealership standards.
- Liaise closely with Service Advisors and technicians to ensure explicit communication and timely completion of customer vehicles.
- Provide technical guidance and support to technicians,



assisting with complex diagnostics and repair procedures where required.
- Monitor workshop efficiency, productivity, and quality, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications, dealership procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate workshop records and support warranty and compliance processes.
- Foster a positive team culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity with an immediate start available. A current driver's licence is essential, and a recognised automotive trade qualification is highly regarded. Previous experience as a Workshop Controller, Foreman, or Senior Technician with leadership responsibilities will be highly regarded.
