We are a growing generator supply and service company, specialising in diesel and petrol generators for industrial, commercial, and residential applications. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a reliable and motivated Mechanical Trade Assistant to join our workshop and warehouse team.
This is a hands‐on role ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working with engines, tools, and machinery in a fast‑paced environment.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Trade Assistant, you will support our technicians with the assembly, testing, servicing, and preparation of generators. You will also assist with general workshop and warehouse duties, ensuring equipment is prepared to a high standard and delivered safely to customers.
Assist with assembly, disassembly, and testing of generators
Support mechanics and technicians with servicing and repairs
Carry out pre‑delivery inspections (PDI) on generators
General workshop and warehouse duties, including housekeeping
Loading and unloading equipment using forklifts
Assist with receiving, dispatching, and stock management
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
Occasional customer interaction and basic service support
Solid mechanical aptitude and interest in engines
Experience working with tools and mechanical equipment
Ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions
Physically fit and able to safely lift up to 30kg
Good attention to detail and quality workmanship
Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
Highly Regarded
Experience with diesel or petrol engines
Knowledge of generators, compressors, or similar machinery
Previous trade assistant or workshop experience
Basic electrical knowledge (12V / 24V systems)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Positive, reliable, and "can-do" attitude
