The Opportunity
Reporting to the Engineering & Production Manager, this is a standalone, site-wide maintenance role where you will take full ownership of production equipment reliability within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
This role suits a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys autonomy, accountability and being the go-to technical expert on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned, preventative and emergency maintenance
- Maintain and improve equipment reliability across: Autoclaves, filling labelling and printing machines, sterilisation equipment, ovens and mixers.
- Diagnose PLC faults
- Coordinate external electricians and specialist contractors when required
- Manage spare parts sourcing, purchasing and inventory (including imported components)
- Use MEX Maintenance Software to plan and document all activities
- Ensure strict adherence to GMP and sterile manufacturing standards
- Maintain accurate records and reporting
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years overall technical experience
- 2–3+ years hands-on experience in a GMP environment
- Strong mechanical maintenance background
- Experience in food, pharmaceutical, packaging or sterile manufacturing
- Ability to fault-find, read manuals and interpret schematics
- Comfortable working independently as the sole site maintenance specialist
Highly Regarded:
- Trade qualification (Fitter & Turner / Mechanical Fitter or similar)
- Experience with autoclaves, sterilisation or pharma packing equipment
- Parts fabrication / machining capability
- Exposure to maintenance systems (MEX or similar)
