HR Advisor – Disability, Aged Care & Community Services

Location:Brisbane, QLD
Employment Type:Full Time
Industry:Disability Support / Aged Care / Community Services

About Us

For Care Group is a growing disability and community services organisation supporting participants across Queensland through a range of in-home care, Supported Independent Living, community access, and complex support services. Alongside this, Tea-Cup Cottage delivers innovative social and community programs focused on meaningful engagement, connection, creativity, and independence for people living with disability.

We're in a period of significant growth and digital transformation, investing heavily in systems, automation, and smarter ways of working. Our HR team plays a central role in supporting that growth — and we're building a team of true generalists who bring breadth, capability, and a willingness to work across the full scope of people and culture.

About the Role

This is a true generalist HR Advisor role, the kind with real scope, real autonomy, and real influence. You'll work across the entire employee lifecycle: recruitment, employee relations, workforce planning, performance, learning and development, compliance, and HR projects, giving managers and leaders the sound, practical advice they actually rely on.

Recruitment will take centre stage early on as we keep growing our workforce, so you'll be confident running end-to-end hiring and partnering with managers to land great people. From there, you'll become the go-to advisor on employee relations, help safeguard our compliance and quality obligations, and build the scalable HR frameworks that keep a fast-growing organisation running smoothly.

We're also deep into a significant digital transformation, and we want someone who sees technology as a way to work smarter, not harder, whether that's optimising our HRIS, automating the manual stuff, rolling out digital L&D; platforms, or driving broader systems and process improvement.

This is a team where everyone rolls up their sleeves.

If you're ready to stretch the full breadth of your HR capability and make an impact you can actually see, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

Leading end-to-end recruitment processes including workforce planning conversations, advertising, screening, selection, and onboarding

Providing practical, commercially sound advice on employee relations matters including performance management, misconduct, grievances, and workplace investigations

Supporting managers and leaders with interpretation and application of employment legislation, Modern Awards, and organisational policies

Contributing to the development and continuous improvement of HR policies, frameworks, and processes

Supporting learning and development initiatives and helping build a sustainable L&D; approach across the organisation

Maintaining compliance with employment legislation, WHS obligations, NDIS Practice Standards, and sector-specific requirements

Producing HR reporting and workforce data to support operational and strategic decision-making

Leading or contributing to HR projects — from process improvement through to organisational change

Championing the use of technology, systems, and automation to improve HR service delivery and operational efficiency

Providing coaching and support to the broader HR team, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture

What we're looking for

A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business, or a related discipline

Demonstrated experience in a generalist HR Advisor or HR Business Partner role — ideally 3+ years

Sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards, and National Employment Standards

Proven capability across employee relations,

recruitment, and at least two other core HR disciplines

Confidence providing advice to managers and leaders on sensitive and complex people matters

Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can draft a policy, write a business case, and have a difficult conversation with equal competence

A genuine appetite for technology and digital tools — you see systems and automation as enablers, not obstacles

Experience in the disability, community services, health, or human services sector will be highly regarded but is not essential

Proactive approach "When something needs doing, you're already on it"

Exceptional customer service "You go the extra step to make people feel genuinely looked after"

Success in This Role Looks Like

Managers trust you and come to you early — not just when things go wrong

Recruitment is efficient, well-managed, and delivering quality hires

Employee relations matters are handled with confidence, consistency, and sound judgement

HR processes and frameworks are practical, scalable, and continuously improving

You actively use and advocate for technology and systems to improve how we work

The HR team operates as a genuine team of generalists — cooperative, capable, and adaptable

Why Join For Life Group?

Play a central role in a growing, purpose-driven organisation

Flexible and supportive leadership team that values initiative and contribution

Diverse exposure across three innovative service brands

Access to staff reward and recognition programs, professional development, and career growth

A culture that puts people at the centre – from customers to colleagues

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR generalist who wants to work in a values-driven organisation during a period of real growth and transformation. If you enjoy variety, complexity, and making a genuine difference — we'd love to hear from you.
