As a Tissue Coordinator at the Australian Tissue Donation Network, you will play a crucial part in facilitating the donation and recovery of tissues that can transform and save lives. In this full-time role based in Frenchs Forest, NSW, you will work closely with healthcare professionals and coordinate the end-to-end tissue donation process.
What you'll be doing
- Liaise with hospitals, clinicians and donor families to coordinate all aspects of the tissue donation process from referral to recovery
- Receipting and swabbing of incoming tissue
- Assess donor medical and social histories to determine tissue donation eligibility
- Provide comprehensive information and support to potential donors throughout the donation process
- Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and protocols
- Collaborate with the medical and hospital team to facilitate our Living Donor Programs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, procedures and training programs
- Participate in on-call duties and respond to tissue donation referrals as required
What we're looking for
- Would suit a nursing, science or allied healthcare professional with experience in a clinical or medical setting
- Demonstrated understanding of the tissue donation and transplantation process
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexible and adaptable- participation in a weekend on-call roster required.
