The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) is home to the legendary Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race and one of Sydney Harbour's most iconic waterfront destinations. We're building a reimagined Marketing & Communications team for the 2026/27 offshore season and beyond - and we want a Junior Digital Content Creator who's ready to make their mark.

Think of this as your launchpad: hands-on experience shooting and editing for a major sporting event, mentorship from our digital and broadcast management team, and a body of work that opens doors for the rest of your career - all while rubbing shoulders with world-class sailors on one of the best office views in Sydney.

About the Role

Reporting to the digital & broadcast team, you'll be at the heart of CYCA's digital presence - capturing the drama of race day, the energy of our events and the unique character of life on Sydney Harbour. You'll produce compelling social content, manage our content calendar and help grow the CYCA and Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race audiences across all digital channels.

What You'll Be Doing

- Capture and edit short-form video content for CYCA and Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race digital channels - Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and web

- Be on the water at key sailing events, covering the action as it unfolds

- Produce snappy, engaging social content including 'hot-mic' interviews with sailors

- Help manage an active content calendar — creating, scheduling and publishing multimedia content across channels

- Edit medium-form video campaigns for CYCA TV on YouTube, including sailor profiles and race highlights

- Create content showcasing the full CYCA membership and clubhouse experience — from race-day atmosphere to food & beverage and social events

- Deliver engaging content for Clubhouse digiboards and Race Village screens in Sydney and Hobart





- Develop story ideas through fleet research and identifying digital trends

- Maintain an organised media library on the company server — identifying key shots and must-use clips

- Help collect and ingest onboard footage from competitors

- Source audio and licensed music for video use

- Assist with camera equipment management — backing up, formatting cards and charging batteries

- Help create graphics promoting Clubhouse events and racing

- Film and cut VNRs for quick-turnaround broadcast delivery

What You'll Bring

We're after someone early in their content career — ready to take what you've learned through uni, freelance work, internships or your own projects and apply it on the biggest stage in Australian sailing.

Essential:

- 2–3 years' experience editing video and/or creating content — uni projects, freelance work, internships and personal content all count

- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (a must)

- Strong understanding of colour grading and sound design

- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and the Adobe Creative Suite

- Experience filming with DSLR/mirrorless cameras

- Robust understanding of social media video formats and trends

- Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously

- Sharp attention to detail and natural storytelling instincts

- A genuine interest in sports marketing and production

Desirable:

- Drone operation licence

- Experience with graphic design

- Sailing experience or interest in the sport
