Tropico Fruits Pty Ltd is a proudly Australian-owned food manufacturer based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast (Yandina). For over 40 years, we’ve been producing premium fruit juices, purees and value-added fruit preparations for leading food manufacturers across Australia and internationally.

As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for a QC Laboratory Officer to join our Quality team for our busy production season.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with laboratory or food manufacturing quality experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where quality and food safety are paramount.

About the Role

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you’ll play an key role in ensuring our products consistently meet the highest standards of food safety, quality and customer expectations.

Working within our laboratory, you’ll undertake microbiological testing, product verification, quality documentation and support production through timely product release.

Key Responsibilities

- Microbiological plating using OSA and MEA agar
- Product sampling and sensory assessments
- Product release through the Quality Management System (QMS)




- Preparation of Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
- Incoming fruit inspections
- Laboratory equipment calibration
- Daily quality inspections using iAuditor
- Review of production documentation
- Management of retention samples
- Preparation of microbiological media
- Laboratory housekeeping and stock control

About You

You’ll ideally have:

- Experience in a QC Laboratory or Food Manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of microbiological laboratory techniques
- Experience with GMP, HACCP and food safety systems
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Sound computer and systems capability
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Food Science, Microbiology or Laboratory qualification
- Experience using Quality Management Systems
- Experience within FMCG or food manufacturing
