Key responsibilities

- Conducting comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments for patients of all ages
- Diagnosing and managing common eye conditions and refractive errors
- Prescribing and fitting spectacles and contact lenses to meet individual patient needs
- Providing advice on eye health, vision correction options and preventative care
- Recording accurate patient information and maintaining detailed clinical records
- Recognising and referring patients with serious eye conditions to appropriate specialists
- Building solid relationships with patients to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty
- Contributing to the overall success of the practice through excellent customer service and professionalism




- Staying current with developments in optometry and optical technology

What we're looking for

- A valid Australian Optometry qualification and current registration with the Optometry Board of Australia
- A willingness to obtain or maintain Ophthalmology Therapeutic Goods Authorisation (TGA) if required by the role
- Strong clinical examination skills and the ability to make accurate diagnoses
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with patients and colleagues
- A patient-centred approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality eye care
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- A professional and friendly demeanour that reflects our practice values
- Flexibility to work part-time or full-time hours but must be available to work 1 weekend day
- Previous experience in a busy optical practice is advantageous
