About Us

At the Ministry of Health, we play an essential role in managing and supporting the health system of New South Wales. The Infrastructure and Asset Management Division is looking for a motivated and diligent individual to join our team as a Project Officer – Assurance and Performance.

This position offers an exciting prospect to engage in improving the asset management maturity & helping with assurance and performance activities in Asset Management Branch of Ministry of Health.

This position is a key position to engage with all Health Entities and help ensure that the right data is being used to make vital decisions on asset management.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for asset management assurance, data validation and audit, performance analysis, and governance compliance.

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, and the ability to prepare clear, evidence-based reports for senior management.

This role requires the candidate for regular commination with key stakeholders across the state.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct annual maturity assessments of asset management systems across Health Entities and LHDs.





Review and validate asset management data and performance reports to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Perform assurance and audit activities to identify strengths, gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Collaborate with Health Entities to enhance asset management practices and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Provide expert advice and guidance on asset management standards, policies, and best practices.

Prepare reports, insights, and recommendations for senior management to support informed decision-making.

Monitor compliance with Ministry requirements and support alignment of asset management systems with established standards.

About You

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about improving asset management practices and can work collaboratively with a diverse set of stakeholders. You will need to demonstrate:

Experience in auditing and validating data, ensuring compliance with established standards.

Robust analytical skills, with experience in assessing data quality and using various metrics to validate submissions.

Excellent communication skills, particularly in providing feedback in a constructive manner when reporting unfavourable results.

Understanding of reporting requirements,



key metrics used to evaluate asset performance and lifecycle management.

Ability to manage and report on complex datasets, and to translate this information into clear and actionable insights.
