Wiseway Logistics (WWG) is an ASX listed, quick growing international freight-forwarding company. We have eight offices Australia wide with international branches in New Zealand, China, Singapore, and USA. Due to recent changes, we are seeking for an experienced and motivated Payroll Officerto join our team in our Head Office based in Bankstown, who can handle demanding deadlines.
You will be performing full functions of Payroll with accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations, and maintenance of employee records across multiple Industries and Awards. This is a very active role with managing multiple payroll deadlines, both nationally and internationally.
Job Responsibilities:
Process end-to-end payroll for employees, including salary/wage calculations, deductions, allowances, and overtime, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant legislation for three different payroll cycles.
Prepare and submit required payroll-related reports to government agencies, e.g., ATO Reporting, superannuation contributions, and other statutory requirements.
Assist with payroll audits and provide necessary documentation and information as required.
Address and resolve payroll-related queries and issues from employees and relevant stakeholders promptly and accurately.
Be the central contact person for ICare, Workers Comp, Services NSW and CentreLink.
Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems, processes, and policies,
recommending improvements as necessary.
Collaborate with the HR department to ensure payroll-related changes, such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary/wage adjustments are accurately reflected in the payroll system.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, whilst maintaining confidentiality and security of employee information and payroll data.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies in payroll calculations.
Review and validate various payroll reports for accuracy before finalizing payment disbursements.
Process adjustments, corrections, and retroactive pay as necessary.
Verifying timesheets for accuracy for TFN drivers and weekly staff.
Weekly contractor timesheets and preparing reports.
Performing other ad hoc/administrative tasks as required by the company and be a support for HR.
Experience
Minimum 3 years’ strong work experience as Payroll Officer or in a similar role.
Knowledge of payroll principles and processes
Sound knowledge of legislative laws, regulations and statutory requirements.
Knowledge and experience using ADP Payroll Software
Exposure to time keeping software and/or platforms
Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and handle conflicting deadlines.
Experience in logistics or freight forwarding industry
Experience using CargoWise software / platform
