Our team is comprised of specialist fire protection professionals, contractors, plumbers, sprinkler fitters and electricians who not only install, but also maintain and provide ongoing support for your fire protection system.
About the Role
We are currently sourcing Dry Fire Installers to join our Contracts Project Division based from our Heatherbrae premises. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, termination, testing and commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems across commercial, industrial and mining projects.
You will work from design drawings and technical specifications to install fire detection systems, cabling and associated equipment, ensuring all systems are delivered in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements.
Working closely with project managers, site supervisors and clients, you will contribute to delivering projects safely, on time and to a high standard. You will also support fault finding, commissioning, compliance documentation and project handover processes.
The role is a Monday to Friday position, working a minimum of 8 hours per day accruing a monthly RDO.
Key Responsibilities
- Install fire detection and alarm systems across commercial, industrial and mining sites
- Install and terminate fire alarm cabling
- Install smoke, heat,
beam and aspirating smoke detection systems including VESDA
- Install EWIS, occupant warning systems and emergency communication systems
- Carry out fault finding and troubleshooting on fire systems
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics and technical documentation
- Complete testing and commissioning activities
- Maintain accurate service reports and installation records
- Work safely in accordance with WHS requirements and site procedures
- Liaise with clients, supervisors and project teams on site
- Participate in mine site and industrial shutdown projects as required

Experience and Qualifications
- Current Electrical Licence
- Previous experience installing fire detection and alarm systems in commercial, industrial or mining environments
- Experience with commissioning and fault finding of fire systems
- Desirable experience with Notifier and Pertronic systems
- Experience with VESDA and aspirating smoke detection systems
- Exposure to gas suppression systems
- Experience working in mining, power generation or heavy industrial environments
- Sound understanding of relevant Australian Standards
- Strong problem solving skills and a proactive approach
- Valid driver licence and White Card
