LMATS is a leading Australian provider of materials testing, inspection and engineering services supporting major infrastructure, manufacturing and industrial projects across the country.
We are currently seeking a Materials / Welding Engineer to join our growing team in Silverwater, Sydney. This role is suited to an engineer with experience in welding supervision, welding procedures and metallurgical testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding supervision and inspection activities
- Prepare and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
- Coordinate and witness welder qualification tests
- Support metallurgical and mechanical testing activities in the laboratory
- Liaise with clients and ensure compliance with relevant standards and project requirements
- Prepare technical reports and support QA/QC documentation
About You
- Degree in Materials Engineering,
Metallurgy or related discipline
- Cert 10 in Welding Supervision or IWE / IWT qualification
- Minimum 3 years relevant industry experience
- Strong understanding of welding standards and inspection practices
Highly Regarded
- NACE Level 1 or Level 2 certification
- Experience working in a metallurgical or mechanical testing laboratory
- Knowledge of welding QA/QC systems and inspection procedures
