Be part of a team of speech pathologists, behaviour support practitioners and educators, taking a strengths-based approach to early childhood early intervention and making a difference to the lives of Autistic children and their families in our early learning services at new Early Learning Service at Macquarie Park.

SDN Children’s Services is a village of professionals, families and children all working to make a difference to children’s lives. Our therapists and educators support children with autism or a developmental delay to help overcome challenges that make everyday life and participation tough. We help build skills and make a positive difference to a child’s life.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide therapy onsite, within our new early learning service that has an Autism Specific Program within the centre. You will have the opportunity to provide therapy within the natural routines of the day, working alongside educators, or within our therapy rooms whereby you can provide therapy to children and their families, building the capacity of families to work with their child.

SDN Macquarie Park is a purpose-built 90-place long day care centre and preschool, providing high quality care and learning in a safe and welcoming space that supports the inclusion of every child. Centrally locatedon a quiet streetin Macquarie Park, this newly renovated centre has been refurbished with design principles and concepts of inclusion and neurodiversity in mind. The outdoor space at this custom-builtcentre providessafe and stimulating environments for children to explore and learn and includes a bike track, sand pitandwater playarea.Theopen plan playground alsoincludesasensory areaset into a landscaped gardenwhichencouraging learningthrough exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity.

There is a dedicated Autism Specific Program, specially designed for more intensive and targeted support for autistic children.



This program is for children 4-5 years old with a diagnosis of autism and to support their transition to school.

The centre also has a room for therapists to deliver therapy to children with a focus on building capacity of their families.

What we are looking for:

- University qualifications in Occupational Therapy and current APRHA membership;
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with children with disabilities or development delays using a transdisciplinary model and strengths-based, family centred and play based approaches to paediatric intervention.
- Demonstrated ability and/or understanding of coaching, facilitating, and bridging approaches to build the capacity of culturally diverse families and adults in children’s lives
- Understanding of the NDIS and a strong ability to manage your time and meet targets (5 billable hours per day)
