BOC Instruments is a leading supplier and service provider of specialised optometry and ophthalmic equipment throughout Australia. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Field / Workshop Technicianto join our growing team based in Silverwater, NSW.
This is a hands-on role involving the repair, maintenance, installation, and relocation of equipment used for eye testing and vision care within optometry practices and clinics. The position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of workshop and field-based work, with interstate travel opportunities available.
Key Responsibilities Repair and troubleshoot optometry and ophthalmic equipment in the workshop and on customer sites
Carry out preventative maintenance and servicing programs
Install, commission, and relocate equipment at customer locations
Diagnose faults and provide effective technical solutions
Complete service reports and maintenance documentation
Deliver high levels of customer service while representing the company professionally
Maintain a safe and organised work setting About You Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Electrical background, electrical trade qualifications, or a good understanding of electrical systems
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Experience in equipment servicing, maintenance, or a related technical field
Good communication and customer service skills
Willingness to travel interstate when required
