About the role
Tasmanian Quality Meats has both casual and full time positions available performing various labouring positions around our different departments. These positions will involve packing meat into bags or boxes, basic knife duties, pushing carcasses through chillers, packing and stacking of boxes into chillers and freezers, operating basic equipment and other various tasks around the site as required.
These positions available will be paid per hour in accordance with the Meat Industry Award 2020. There will be opportunities to earn more through overtime and as you advance into senior positions. We operate from Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime and weekend work which will be required from time to time. Training will be provided for all our roles,
as well as opportunities for longer terms of employment as you gain experience in the meat industry.
The positions will require a good level of fitness and strength, as well as literacy and numeracy skills. Candidates must be able to work within a team environment and have reliable transportation. To be offered a position, you will need to participate in a medical assessment, including alcohol and drug testing, and have full working rights within Australia. We are looking for candidates who can start immediately.
