Executive Officer - CEO and Board Governance
Macquarie Community College (MCC) is a respected not-for-profit education and training organisation, growing and changing since 1950. The College delivers inclusive, affordable vocational and adult community education for thousands of learners from our campuses, community venues and online, and an innovative alternative high school called Gateway Community High.
We have created a new role for an Executive Officer who will operate as a trusted partner to the CEO with a primary focus on supporting effective governance and our executive teams.
You will provide high-level executive support, coordinate Board and committee processes, manage board papers, and act as a key liaison between senior leaders, Board members, colleagues and external stakeholders.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing executive-level support to the Group CEO, including diary management, briefings, correspondence, and meeting preparation.
Coordinating Board and committee meetings, including scheduling, logistics, minute-taking, and governance compliance.
Overseeing the preparation, collation, and quality assurance of Board papers.
Managing confidential information with the highest level of integrity and discretion.
Supporting CEO-led strategic projects and executive reporting.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
Supporting maintenance of risk management and compliance policies and systems, registers and follow up actions.
About You
You are a team player with exceptional organisation skills and known for your skilled and positive approach.
Tertiary qualified with minimum 5 years' experience in a senior administrative or projects role supporting C-suite level executives and/or Boards.
Tech savvy with the curiosity and skills to streamline information and communications effectively and efficiently across Microsoft and other software systems.
Demonstrated experience supporting Boards and preparing Board papers.
Have the rare mix of being able to learn on the fly, pay attention to detail and manage/juggle competing deadlines whilst staying calm and maintaining a sense of humour.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – you are willing and able to communicate verbally in person, on phone or Teams and take pride in your ability to write well.
High level of discretion, professionalism and judgement.
Experience within a not-for-profit or values-driven organisation (Desirable)
Knowledge of corporate governance frameworks and compliance requirements (Desirable)
Knowledge of risk and compliance policies and reporting practices (Desirable)
