The Course Coordinator role is offered as a part-time academic leadership position (0.5 FTE). For candidates interested in contributing further to teaching,additionalteaching opportunities may be available through a separate teaching appointment, subject to discipline needs and qualifications.
The Role
As Course Coordinator (Property), you will playa central rolein coordinating the effectiveday to daydelivery, academicqualityand ongoing development of ICMS Property courses.Reporting tothe Senior Program Managerand working closely withteaching faculty, skilled staff, students, industrypartnersand professional bodies, you will help ensure that students receive a high-quality, industry-relevantand professionally aligned learning experience.
This is acoordination role with a focus on Property education, curriculum relevance, student progression, course qualityassuranceand industry engagement. A key feature of the role is supporting professional accreditation requirements, including those associated with the Royal Instituteof Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and ensuring that accreditation expectations are embeddedin course review, curriculum development, assessmentreviewand continuous improvement processes.
You will act as an important liaison between students, lecturers, professionalstaffand external stakeholders,
supporting student success while helping to ensure thatBachelor ofProperty coursesremaincurrent, professionally credible and aligned with industry expectations.
Key Accountabilities
- Student engagement and support:Provideacademic advice, progressionguidanceand consultation for Property students, including support for students at risk, enrolment and retention matters, and liaison with the Student Success Centre.
- Course coordination and academic operations:Support the planning,coordinationand consistency of course and subject delivery across teaching teams,locationsand delivery modes, including timetabling, subject sign-off, assessment processes and course completion activities.
- Quality assurance and continuous improvement:Contribute to course and subject review cycles,monitorstudent outcomes and student experience data, and support improvement actions that enhance teaching quality, curriculumrelevanceand the overall student learning experience.
- Professional accreditation and industry alignment:Support the management,maintenanceand reporting of professional accreditation requirements, including Royal Instituteof Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accreditation, course and competency mapping, evidence collection, accreditationrecommendationsand ongoing compliance monitoring.
- Industry engagement:Develop andmaintainrelationships with Property industry partners, employers, alumni, guestlecturersand professional bodies to strengthen employability, Work Integrated Learning, curriculumrelevanceand industry engagement.
- Scholarship:Contribute to teaching, scholarly activity, peerreviewand professional development that supports contemporary Property education and strengthens the academic culture of ICMS.
- Community contribution:Represent the Property course atstudentorientation, open days, academic informationsessionsand other events that support student recruitment,engagementand success.
Selection Criteria
The successful candidate will bring a combination of academic experience, Property industryknowledgeand strong interpersonal capability. Essential requirements include:
- AMaster’sdegree or equivalent professional qualification in Property, Valuation, Real Estate, PropertyDevelopmentor a closely related field.
- Experience teaching and supporting diverse student cohorts.
- Property industry experience and engagement with relevant professional bodies, including Royal Instituteof Chartered Surveyors (RICS),Australian Property Institute (API)or comparable organisations.
- Strong communication,collaborationand interpersonal skills.
- Experience working effectively in a team-based academic or professional environment.
- Desirable experience includes knowledge of professional accreditation requirements, competency-based education frameworks and quality assurance processes associated with Property education, membership of a relevant professional association such as Royal Instituteof Chartered Surveyors (RICS) orAustralian Property Institute (API); and experience in academic coordination or management within a tertiary setting.
