The Team

The Trauma and Acute Surgery Unit (TASU) is a fast paced, acute ward environment, and prides itself on a high standard of acute general surgical and trauma nursing care. We are seeking an Associate Nurse Unit Manager to join the team who is dynamic, enthusiastic and ready to continue their professional development. TASU prides itself on exemplifying the OneHealth CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence, and is seeking an ANUM who will lead this amongst the team.

The Role

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), you will work in partnership with the Nurse Unit Manager and other senior clinicians to support the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. You will provide clinical and operational leadership, coordinate day-to-day patient care activities and patient flow, and assist with the management of staffing and resources to ensure efficient service delivery. You will act as a clinical role model and mentor, supporting nursing staff, fostering a positive team culture, and contributing to service improvement initiatives. The role also involves supporting quality and safety activities, assisting with the development and implementation of clinical practices and guidelines, and helping to ensure patients receive safe, effective and contemporary care.

You will need

- Strong clinical experience within a healthcare setting and the ability to provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate competing priorities in a busy environment.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to mentor staff and support positive change.
- A commitment to patient-centred care, clinical excellence, quality improvement, and safe practice.




- Experience contributing to service development, implementing best-practice initiatives, and supporting effective patient flow and care coordination.
- Sound judgement, initiative, and the ability to make decisions in a dynamic clinical environment.

Details of appointment

Fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working up to 64 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of approximately 10 months.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$109,767 to $115,813 pro rata per annum + our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
