We are seeking for an experienced METAL FABRICATOR to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. Our focus is someone highly motivated and organized. The person that joins our team needs to demonstrate competency and show knowledge in the field of processing.

Responsibilities

- Select, clean and prepare metal stock for fabrication
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job sheets.
- Cut and shape marked-out metal sections using CNC plasma, laser, drilling and other cutting equipment
- cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
- shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
- aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
- Perform basic machine setup and adjustments.
- Measure and inspect finished components to ensure they meet specifications.
- Deburr, grind and finish components as required.
- Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
- Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
- examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
- Finish products by cleaning, polishing,



filing and bathing in acidic solutions

Requirements

- Previous experience in metal processing, fabrication or manufacturing (preferred but not essential). Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in the field
- Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment.
- Experience operating CNC machinery is highly regarded.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Physically fit and capable of handling heavy materials safely.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
- Current forklift licence (highly regarded).
- Overhead crane ticket (highly regarded).
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
