About the role
As a Patient Support Officer, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care at Redcliffe Hospital. This hands-on role combines patient support, hospital cleaning, waste and linen management, and equipment transportation duties. You will assist clinical staff with patient movement and positioning, safely transport patients throughout the facility, and ensure clinical and non-clinical areas are maintained in accordance with Queensland Health infection prevention and environmental cleaning standards.

- Comply withand utilise procedures, policies, regulations,standardsand duty statementswhichimpactupon the position, including contemporaryHumanResourceManagementRequirements andPractices,WorkplaceHealth andSafety, Code of Conduct,EqualEmploymentOpportunity andHealth Equity and Racism.
- Compliance with all Metro North Health Mandatory Training requirements, participation in in-service training as required, and tocomply withall directions that arecommensuratewiththe002 level as outlined in theQueensland HealthOperational Services Manual.
- Assistclinical staff in the positioning of patients utilisingappropriate PatientHandling Techniques and undertaking the tasksunder the direction andsupervisionof a clinical staff membersuch as lifting,turningand mobilising patients.
- Assisthealthcare professionals in the provision of patient care associated with the delivery ofpatientsupport services by performing a range of basic non-professional tasks and transporting of patients under clinical direction from one area to another using bed,trolleyor wheelchair.
