We are seeking an experienced and motivated WORKSHOP MANAGER to lead our Gladstone workshop operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader with a strong background in fabrication, maintenance, or industrial services who is passionate about safety, quality, and team performance.

Based locally in GLADSTONE, you'll play a key role in overseeing day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Carry out all aspects of the day to day running of the Gladstone Workshop for the Operations Department and KAEFER Integrated Services Pty Ltd within the guidelines set out below, to successfully achieve the company’s objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job scheduling and labour allocation for day-to-day operations.

Coordinate resources, (operational and human) schedules and activities to effectively manage jobs.

Ensure correct supplies are ordered for each job.

Assist with project management, materials purchasing and quality checks.

Estimate opportunities and ensure the appropriate gate process is followed for approvals.





Ensure correct job numbers are used and that time records are correct.

Provide oversight and check job estimates.

Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the Operations Manager.

Report on manpower overruns or shortfalls.

Act as a technical adviser on key projects and other areas of the business as requested.

Work with the Operations Manager to respond to client's requests for updates on the status of their jobs and keep the communication channels open to ensure information is accurate.

Assist the company wherever possible to ensure the overall health, safety, and welfare of all KAEFER personnel, contractors or visitors.

Ensure all work practices are carried out in as safe a manner as is possible and complies with all applicable legislation and the KAEFER's Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies / procedures at all times, to achieve a zero tolerance of unsafe practices.

Comply with all aspects of the KAEFER Quality policies and procedures at all times.

Comply with all KAEFER and/or site specific policy and procedures at all times.

Strive to find and implement innovative means of improving the cost effectiveness of the administration systems and processes

ABOUT YOU

At least five (5) years' experience in a similar Supervision role in a FABRICATION WORKSHOP environment.

At least ten (10) years' technical experience.





Strong verbal and written English language skills for reports and written correspondence.

Experience with estimating workshop projects.

Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

An eye for detail and accuracy with numbers.

Able to work under pressure, multi-task, together with the capacity to plan and prioritise workloads in order to meet deadlines;

Proficient in the use of multiple computer applications including the 2010 Microsoft Office Package.

Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex tasks by coordinating the work of others.
