Clinical Lead - headspace (Parental Leave Relief)

Flourish Australia has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Clinical Leadto oversee the day to day clinical operationsat theheadspace Parramatta centre in a parental leave relief position.

The parental leave-relief position is:

- Full-time closed-term (76 hours per fortnight) from 18 September 2026 - 6 September 2026
- Based in Parramatta
- Working Monday to Friday

About the Opportunity

As the headspace Clinical Lead, you will be provide leadership and oversight of the clinical services of headspace Parramatta. This role combines clinical governance, supervision and service development with direct clinical work, including complex assessments and therapeutic interventions. The Clinical Lead works closely with the Clinical & Operations Manager to implement best practice, contribute to continuous quality improvement, and maintain compliance with accreditation and safeguarding requirements.

Your main responsibilities as the Clinical Lead will include (but are not limited to):

- Working as a member of the leadership team to oversee the day-to-day clinical operation of the service (as delegated).
- Oversee processes to ensure appropriate case planning and coordination for young people and their families accessingheadspace.
- Assertively monitor young people where risk is indicated, including regularly assessing the current level of risk and developing action plans to mitigate any risks in accordance with the Flourish Australia risk management framework.
- Provide assessments and evidence-based interventions, including group interventions, with young people (and their families/carers) accessing headspace.
- Undertake a range of assessments of young people and their families/carers as appropriate, including intake assessments, initial bio-psychosocial assessments, assessments of functioning, outcome measures, and symptom severity measures.
- Work collaboratively with the young person and their families to develop individual recovery plans and/or service plans including relevant interventions that are person-centred and directed by the young person as much as possible.
- Facilitate regular clinical review meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure appropriate, consistent, and coordinated service pathways and service delivery response for young people and their families/carers.
- Report on individual progress with young people during case discussions/ team meetings and also formally using relevantheadspacedata systems.
- Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with other internal and external service providers, including General Practitioners and other medical professionals, Government Departments and services, Non-Government Organisations, and schools.




- Maintain accurate and timely progress notes and reports using an electronic medical records system, and data using relevant headspace data systems.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

- Minimum three years post-qualification experience delivering mental health assessments and evidence based interventions.
- Clinical Psychologist or Registered Psychologist who have current full AHPRA registration,or;
- Occupational therapists who have current full APHRA registration, and who have completed additional mental health specific training and hold mental health accreditation with OTA,or;
- Social Workers holding an approved Social Work Qualification (Bachelor/ Master of Social Work) and who have completed additional mental health specific training, andeligible for membership of the AASWor;
- Division 1 Mental Health Nurses who have completed additional training or who have relevant experience within mental health, e.g. with post graduate qualifications in mental health nursing.




- Mental Health Counsellors or Psychotherapistswith a minimum of Level 3 or above requirements outlined within the Australian Counselling Association Scope of Practice Guidelines, and who are registered with the relevant membership body (ACA or PACFA or equivalent).

- Demonstrated advanced skills in the delivery of clinical services to young people and/or providing mental health services or programs, including being able to respond to crisis and high-risk situations, when required.
- An in-depth knowledge of recovery focused and family inclusive practice, as well as understanding the needs of young people from diverse backgrounds,and the ability to effectively engage with them and their family/carers.
- Experience providing clinical supervision and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated experience in the participation of clinical systems including the implementation and review of Clinical Governance Models, privacy and confidentiality principles.
- Advanced interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage competing demands.
