Secure Long-Term Workshop Work with a 45+ Year Industry Leader
If you're an experiencedMazak CNC Machinistlooking for consistent workshop-based work, modern equipment and genuine long-term career stability, this opportunity delivers.
We're expanding our Machine Shop team to support continued growth across our projects and maintenance divisions. Based at our purpose-built Hemmant workshop, you'll be working on ournew Mazak QTE300MY x 1000 CNC Lathe with Mazatrol Smooth EZ controls, producing precision components for a diverse range of industrial clients.
Strong Mazak programming and operating experience is highly valued, as you'll be responsible for programming, setting and machining components with minimal supervision.
What the Role Involves
This is hands-on workshop machining within a modern engineering facility - not repetitive production line work. You'll be part of a skilled trade team delivering high-quality components that support ongoing maintenance, shutdowns and engineering projects across South East Queensland.
You'll be involved in:
Programming, setting and operating aMazak QTE300MY x 1000 CNC LatheusingMazatrol Smooth EZcontrols.
Creating and editing Mazatrol programs to produce precision-machined components.
Manufacturing small to medium production runs, one-off components and repair work.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to independently set up machining operations.
Maintaining exceptional machining quality while meeting production deadlines and workshop priorities.
Are You an Fit?
Minimum 5 years' experience programming, setting and operating Mazak CNC lathes or similar multi-axis CNC turning centres.
Demonstrated experience writing and editing Mazatrol programs is highly desirable and will be viewed favourably.
Strong ability to read engineering drawings and independently determine machining methods and setups.
Experience within a busy jobbing workshop or heavy engineering environment.
Ability to produce high-quality precision components with minimal supervision.
Willingness to work overtime when required (typically 45?55 hours per week).
Reliable, safety-focused and team-oriented.
Pride in producing quality workmanship with strong attention to detail.
