We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help build scalable, high-performance, cloud-native applications. Working closely with architects, product managers, and fellow engineers, you will design, develop, and maintain robust software solutions that deliver real business value.

As a senior member of the team, you will play an active role in technical design and decision-making, mentor other engineers, champion engineering best practices, and contribute to the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of our platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build scalable microservices and event-driven solutions using modern architectural patterns.
- Design and implement secure, well-documented RESTful APIs.
- Develop cloud-native applications deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
- Work with MongoDB and other NoSQL databases to build scalable data solutions.
- Integrate applications using messaging technologies such as Solace and Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise applications using observability tools including Dynatrace and Sumo Logic.
- Participate in incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automation, and technical debt reduction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software aligned with business objectives.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:





- Extensive hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong experience designing and building microservices and distributed systems.
- Proven experience designing and developing scalable RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes, and containerised applications.
- Hands-on experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Solace or Google Cloud Pub/Sub.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, integration approaches, and cloud-native development practices.
- Experience building secure, resilient, and highly available applications.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and up-to-date software delivery methodologies.
- Experience using observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Sumo Logic, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar platforms.
- Experience managing production incidents through investigation, resolution, and post-incident improvement.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- A passion for mentoring engineers, sharing knowledge, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Experience using AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar to accelerate software delivery.
