About the Role

Ready to lead something new? Coastal Transport Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Contract Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a brand-new contract. Backed by a brand-new fleet of trucks, an experienced team, and ongoing training and support from our leadership team, you'll have everything you need to succeed. This is a unique opportunity to make your mark from day one, build strong client relationships, lead a high-performing team, and help deliver secure, efficient, and reliable transport solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day operations of a transport contract across multiple sites, ensuring service delivery meets customer expectations.

Manage the daily allocation and scheduling of 19 vehicles to maximise fleet utilisation and operational efficiency.

Lead, support and mentor drivers, promoting a positive team culture and high performance.

Ensure all transport activities are completed safely and in compliance with company policies, Chain of Responsibility (CoR),



NHVR requirements and relevant legislation.

Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, drivers and internal stakeholders.

Monitor daily performance, proactively resolving operational issues and implementing continuous improvements.

Coordinate vehicle servicing, maintenance and defect reporting to minimise downtime.

Manage driver attendance, leave requests and daily staffing requirements.

Ensure accurate completion and maintenance of transport documentation, records and reporting.

Investigate incidents, customer concerns and service issues, implementing corrective actions where required.

Monitor KPIs and contract performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, safety and customer satisfaction.

Work closely with the Operations Manager and wider operations team to ensure the successful delivery and growth of the contract.

What we're looking for

Extensive experience within the transport and logistics industry is essential, with prior experience in the transportation of steel highly regarded.

Previous experience in a supervisory, operations, fleet or transport management role.

Strong knowledge of transport legislation, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and NHVR requirements.

Demonstrated experience managing drivers,



fleet operations and daily transport scheduling.

Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.

The ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound operational decisions.

Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

High level of computer literacy, including experience using transport management systems and Microsoft Office.

A commitment to safety, compliance and delivering outstanding customer service.

A current driver's licence (essential).
HC licence highly regarded or willingness to obtain within early stages of employment (company funded).

CV/C6 Crane ticket, with experience highly regarded or willingness to obtain within early stages of employment (company funded)
