Broken Hill Operations is seeking applications from motivated and safety-focused employees for the position of Underground Miner All Rounder.

This role will provide coverage for the roles of Jumbo Operator, Production Driller, Remote Loader Operator, Production Charge Up and Development Charge Up.

This role is ideal for an experienced underground operator who enjoys variety and is capable of operating a range of underground mining equipment. The successful applicant will be flexible, adaptable, and committed to working safely while supporting the achievement of production targets.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a variety of underground mining equipment, including trucks, loaders, charge-up rigs, jumbos and drills.

Gain competence on all equipment types and be able to efficiently operate it as directed.

Perform pre-start inspections and report equipment defects promptly.

Operate equipment efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity and equipment care.

Work across different production areas and provide relief for operators during leave and training.

Maintain clear communication with supervisors and fellow crew members.

Assist in training and mentoring new and junior operators where required.

Contribute to a positive team culture and continuous improvement initiatives.

Comply with all company policies, procedures and WHS requirements.

Demonstrated experience operating a range of underground mining equipment.

A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.

The ability to work flexibly across multiple roles within the mining crew.

Sound communication and teamwork skills.

A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.





A current Australian Manual Driver Licence.

The ability to meet all site medical, lead monitoring and induction requirements.

Rasp Mine is an operating silver-lead-zinc mine in Broken Hill, with a large Mineral Resource and a 750,000tpa processing plant. The mine has operated for over 120 years, producing zinc and lead concentrates sold globally. Pinnacles Mine, situated 15km southwest of Broken Hill, is known for containing one of the area's highest-grade and shallowest silver-zinc-lead deposits. Despite being largely undeveloped, small-scale historical mining has occurred over the past 120 years.
