We're looking for an experienced Employment & Education Coordinator who will lead one of our most important programs while working as the 2IC to the Clubhouse Director.

This is a genuine leadership opportunity combining program leadership, operational leadership, staff supervision, community partnerships and hands on practice. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our new Ipswich Clubhouse by leading our Employment & Education Program while contributing to the day-to-day leadership and success of the wider service.

About the opportunity

As the Employment & Education Coordinator, you'll lead one of the Clubhouse's most significant portfolios while serving as the 2IC to the Clubhouse Director.

This is a senior leadership role where you'll combine strategic program leadership with day-to-day operational leadership. You'll be responsible for strengthening and growing the Employment & Education Program, building strong employer and education partnerships, supporting Members to achieve meaningful employment and education outcomes, and ensuring the program continues to evolve in line with the Clubhouse Model.

As the Clubhouse's 2IC, you'll also provide leadership across the broader service. You'll supervise staff, coordinate work, exercise delegated authority, support operational decision making and contribute to the secure, effective and successful operation of the Clubhouse every day. Working in close partnership with the Clubhouse Director, you'll help create a positive, accountable and high performing culture where Members and staff work side by side to achieve meaningful outcomes.

Classified as Social and Community Services Employee Level 5 under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010

The role will initially be based at our Coorparoo Clubhouse, with relocation to Ipswich once a suitable premises is secured.

Ordinary working hours are generally between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday. The role also requires flexibility to work occasional early starts, evenings, weekends and overnight stays associated with Clubhouse camps and activities.

The successful applicant will participate in an on-call roster for approximately one weekend each month. An on-call allowance applies.

What you'll be doing

Lead the continued development of the Employment & Education Program, creating meaningful employment, education and vocational opportunities for Members.

Work in partnership with the Clubhouse Director as the Clubhouse's 2IC, providing day to day operational leadership and contributing to the achievement of organisational priorities.

Supervise, coach and support Mental Health Support Workers and other staff, providing work allocation, practice guidance and leadership within your delegated authority.

Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, education providers and community organisations to expand opportunities for Members.

Drive continuous improvement by strengthening systems, partnerships, reporting, compliance and program quality.

Support Members to identify, pursue and achieve their employment, education and vocational goals.

Work alongside Members and staff every day, modelling the Clubhouse philosophy and contributing to a vibrant, welcoming and member led community.

Exercise initiative and sound judgement, taking ownership of operational matters within your delegation and escalating significant issues where appropriate.

Support service continuity, operational decision making and the effective day to day running of the Clubhouse.

About you

You're an experienced leader who enjoys building relationships, developing people and creating opportunities that make a genuine difference.

You’ll thrive in this role if you naturally take ownership. You notice what needs to be done, step in to help without being asked, and use sound judgement to make decisions within your delegated authority. You're practical,



hands on and willing to roll up your sleeves, whether that's supporting a Member, helping a colleague, solving an operational issue or contributing to the day-to-day running of the Clubhouse.

You’ll also bring:

Experience leading, coordinating or developing a program, service or operational area.

Experience supervising, mentoring and supporting staff.

Robust relationship building skills with employers, education providers, community organisations or other stakeholders.

Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

The ability to balance strategic thinking with practical, day to day leadership.

A commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery.

A genuine belief in people's strengths and potential, and the key role employment and education play in recovery and community participation.

- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in community services, mental health, employment, education or a related field.
