The opportunity
We are excited to announce a Builders Labourer and Apprentice opportunity with Greenwise Constructions in Launceston, TAS. These are full time positions and also offering a casual labouring position. This is a chance to join an experienced builder in a small team and develop your skills. Whether you are an experienced labourer looking for your next opportunity or a school leaver interested in commencing a formal apprenticeship, we welcome applications from candidates at various stages of their career.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting qualified tradespeople with site preparation, material handling and organisation
- Supporting the setup and maintenance of safe working environments on construction sites
- Performing general labouring duties including excavation, demolition and site clean-up
- Assisting with the positioning and securing of building materials and components
- Contributing to tooling, equipment and site safety procedures
- Learning and applying construction techniques and best practices under supervision
- Participating in on-site training and formal apprenticeship requirements (where applicable)
- Supporting all team members to maintain high standards of workmanship and site safety
What we're looking for
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn with a proactive attitude towards your development
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour tasks on construction sites IS A MUST.
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety practices and protocols
- Reliability and strong attendance record
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instruction from supervisors
- Basic communication and problem-solving skills
- For apprentice applicants: completion of Year 10 or equivalent, or equivalent life experience
- For experienced labourers: relevant construction site experience and demonstrated competency in labouring duties
- Current driver's licence is advantageous
- Willingness to obtain relevant certifications (such as White Card – Construction Induction or equivalent) as required
