About the role

Vrina Mezze Bar is seeking an experienced Chef to join our culinary operations and drive excellence in food preparation and presentation. This is a casual position with option to lead onto a full time position based in Kawana island, QLD 4575. overseeing all aspects of food production, menu development, and culinary standards. This role is pivotal to maintaining our reputation for quality Mediterranean cuisine and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Key responsibilities

- Develop, create and refine menus that showcase Mediterranean flavours whilst maintaining consistency and quality standards

- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standard, adhering to recipes, plating presentations and food safety protocols

- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards in compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations

- Plan and execute special events, seasonal menus and promotional dishes to enhance guest experience

- Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed

- Collaborate with front-of-house staff and management to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction

- Stay current with culinary trends and techniques to continuously improve menu offerings

What we're looking for

- Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Chef a busy, full-service restaurant or hospitality establishment

- Strong culinary expertise, particularly in Mediterranean and Australian cuisine

- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop kitchen staff

- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations and HACCP principles

- Excellence in menu planning, recipe development and cost control





- Solid organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Passion for quality food and commitment to exceptional culinary standards

- Current food safety certification and relevant culinary qualifications are highly valued

- Experience in a similar casual dining or restaurant environment would be advantageous
