We’re looking for a Desktop Home Assessor to join a high-performing team responsible for assessing and managing home insurance claims end-to-end using virtual tools.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll manage a portfolio of home insurance claims from lodgement through to settlement, using desktop assessment tools and expert reports to determine scope, cost and repair outcomes.

You’ll be responsible for:

- Conducting desktop assessments of property damage using virtual tools and supplier reports
- Determining cause of damage, policy coverage and appropriate repair methods
- Preparing accurate scopes of works and cost estimates
- Reviewing builder and supplier quotes to ensure value, accuracy and timeliness
- Managing end-to-end claims outcomes within agreed SLAs




- Delivering a strong customer experience during what is often a stressful time
- Working closely with builders, suppliers, repairers and internal claims teams

About You

You’ll bring a practical, hands-on understanding of building or construction and be comfortable working in a fast-paced claims workplace.

You’ll have:

- Experience in building, estimating, construction, or insurance assessing (trade background highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of residential building practices and repair methods
- Ability to interpret scopes, quotes and technical reports
- Strong attention to detail and sound decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
- A customer-first mindset with resilience and empathy
