Are you an organised and reliable person with food handling experience and understanding of food allergies?

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our Preschool service to play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of children.

This position offers family-friendly hours, making it ideal for someone looking to work around school commitments or other responsibilities.

About the Role

Working Monday to Friday from 10:00am to 2:00pm, you will be responsible for supporting the daily food service operations of our centre and ensuring meals are prepared and served safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

- Heating, preparing and serving children's meals and snacks
- Plating meals according to dietary requirements
- Managing food preparation for children with allergies, intolerances and medical dietary needs
- Maintaining accurate food safety and allergy management practices
- Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen, utensils and equipment
- Washing dishes and completing daily kitchen cleaning tasks
- Monitoring food temperatures and storage requirements
- Assisting with stock rotation and kitchen organisation
- Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and centre procedures
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Experience managing food allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements




- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Current Working With Children Check and police check

Desirable (not essential)

- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or Food Handling Certificate
- Understanding of allergy management and anaphylaxis risks
