About the Role
Reporting to the GM Financial Operations, the Internal Accountant supports day-to-day accounting activities with a focus on accounts payable, reconciliations, compliance support and month-end processes. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure accuracy, consistency and strong financial controls across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end accounts payable processing, including invoice review, coding accuracy, approval workflows and payment preparation
- Supplier account maintenance and discrepancy resolution
- Support bank reconciliations, clearing accounts and balance sheet integrity
- Assist with BAS preparation, ATO compliance and supporting documentation
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready financial records
- Support accounts receivable follow-up as required
- Work within a centralised Xero environment, ensuring consistent processes and controls
- Respond to finance-related queries from internal stakeholders
- Contribute to continuous improvement of finance systems and workflows
About You
You are organised, dependable and take pride in accurate financial work. You enjoy hands-on accounting tasks, follow processes well, and are comfortable working in an on-site team environment.
Essential Criteria
- Qualification in Accounting or Bookkeeping (Certificate IV, Diploma or higher)
- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable and financial operations
- Experience using Xero, ideally in a multi-file or centralised environment
- Working knowledge of BAS and ATO compliance requirements
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on-site at Crestmead, QLD 4208

- Experience in not-for-profit, sporting or membership-based organisations
- Experience supporting audits or financial reviews
