Mechanical Supervisor | Mining Projects & Shutdowns | 2:1 FIFO Roster

Calibre Engineering Pty Ltd is a locally owned and operated engineering company based in Mount Isa, delivering maintenance, shutdown and project services across some of Australia's leading mining operations.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join our Projects Team on a 2:1 FIFO roster.

FIFO flights are provided from Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns, with meals and accommodation supplied.

About the Role

As Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating mechanical crews to safely deliver project and shutdown works to the highest standard.

This is a hands‑on leadership position where you'll be responsible for planning work, supervising personnel, maintaining productivity and ensuring all work is completed safely, on time and to client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise crews of 10+ employees
- Coordinate daily work activities and allocate resources effectively
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and project documentation
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures
- Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example
- Monitor quality, productivity and project progress
- Liaise with clients, supervisors and project teams
- Complete reports, timesheets and other computer-based documentation

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Minimum 5 years' experience supervising mechanical crews of 10 or more personnel




- Demonstrated leadership experience within mining, heavy industry or shutdown environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Sound computer literacy and experience using digital reporting systems
- Current Supervisor Training certification
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screening

Highly Desirable

- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Boilermaker
- Previous mining or processing plant experience
- Current Mine Site Medical
- Mount Isa Mines (MMQ) inductions
- High Risk Work Licences
