We're looking for a qualified and motivated Refrigeration Mechanic to join our Maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a large-scale, modern food production facility where you'll play a key role in ensuring our refrigeration, cooling and climate control systems operate safely, efficiently and reliably.
About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of refrigeration systems supporting our growing rooms, cool rooms, packing facilities and production equipment.
You'll work across preventative maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement projects to help keep our operation running 24/7.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
- Maintain cool rooms, chilled storage and HVAC equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify refrigeration faults efficiently.
- Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
- Monitor refrigeration performance to maintain product quality and food safety.
- Complete maintenance records and work orders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
- Ensure all work complies with workplace safety standards and relevant Australian regulations.
About You
- You're a qualified Refrigeration Mechanic who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in your workmanship and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Trade qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Experience maintaining commercial or industrial refrigeration systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality.
- Experience within food manufacturing, agriculture or cold storage.
- Current Queensland Electrical Work Licence.
- Experience with PLC-controlled equipment or industrial automation.
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
