As a result of a secured engagement with one of our National Security partners, Helix requires a Network Automation Engineer to join us.

We're looking for a Network Automation Engineer withproven experience of solving complex problems, who thrives working as part of a team to push boundaries and is passionate about leveraging technology to produce world-class outcomes for national security customers.

- Design and implement software components as part of an Infrastructure-as-Code project.
- Assist infrastructure engineers to integrate multiple third-party infrastructure products to produce a software defined data centre.
- Participate in complex architectural design & implementation planning sessions.
- Participate in code reviews and action test plans.
- Create and maintain informative software, system, and process documentation.
- Assist in the creation of detailed technical documentation.
- Integrate software components using a CI/CD toolchain.
- Use a test-driven development approach to software production.
- Actively participate in continuous process measurement, review, and improvement.
- Assist project members with the investigation and resolution of complex development problems.

Network Automation Engineer key responsibilities:





- Design and implement software components as part of an Infrastructure-as-Code project.
- Assist infrastructure engineers to integrate multiple third-party infrastructure products to produce a software defined data centre.
- Participate in complex architectural design & implementation planning sessions.
- Participate in code reviews and action test plans.
- Create and maintain informative software, system, and process documentation.
- Assist in the creation of detailed technical documentation.
- Integrate software components using a CI/CD toolchain.
- Use a test-driven development approach to software production.
- Actively participate in continuous process measurement, review, and improvement.
- Assist project members with the investigation and resolution of complex development problems.

Network Automation Engineer essential experience & capability:

- CCNA and or CCNP qualifications
- Proficiency in Python for automating network tasks and developing scripts.
- Proven experience in network automation, including strong hands-on knowledge of Ansible and writing custom Ansible Modules and Collections.
- Solid understanding of fundamental networking principles (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, energetic routing protocols, firewalls, etc.), across multiple vendors.
- Experience in managing, designing and configuring large networks.
- Familiarity with Network Monitoring Systems.




- Ability to handle debugging and performance analysis.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, such as those required to generate and document complex test plans.
- Experience with test driven development, CI/CD pipelines (particularly Gitlab) and code review.
- Exposure to software defined infrastructure projects.
- Willingness to learn and be across the latest in networking technologies
- Ability to solve complex technical problems.
- NV2 with the ability to pass additional security assessments.

Network Automation Engineer desirable experience:

- Working in Agile teams.
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (IaC) deployment.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Full Stack development experience.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud environments.
- Experience in Government Secure Environments.
- Working with network monitoring and security monitoring platforms.
- Working in a project environment - below the line.
