About the Role
Are you an Exercise Physiologist who enjoys building genuine connections and supporting older people to live well at home and in the community? This is a rewarding opportunity to bring your skills, energy and person‑centred approach to Uniting’s Waverley Seniors Gym and services across Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
In this role, you’ll design and deliver safe, evidence‑informed exercise programs that help seniors improve mobility, balance, strength and independence. Based at Waverley Seniors Gym and supporting clients across the surrounding eastern suburbs, you’ll tailor programs to each person’s goals, abilities and lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive health screenings and functional assessments
- Develop, implement, and review individualised exercise programs
- Facilitate and monitor group and 1:1 exercise sessions
- Collaborate closely with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure programs are safe, engaging, and aligned to best practice
About You
You are a practical,
compassionate and confident allied health qualified who enjoys working directly with older people and seeing the difference your support can make over time.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A degree in Exercise Physiology
- ESSA accreditation (Exercise & Sport Science Australia)
- Experience working within Aged Care (preferred)
- Robust knowledge of gym equipment and supervision
- Ability to organise and conduct health screenings, functional assessments and reassessments
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Outlook
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle
