JP Thermal Insulation is seeking a skilled Pipe Lagger/Cladder to join our team on a casual basis. This role is based in Canberra, ACT, and offers the flexibility of casual work whilst contributing to our high-quality thermal insulation projects. As a Pipe Lagger/Cladder, you will be responsible for installing thermal insulation systems on pipes and other industrial equipment. This position is essential to ensuring that our clients receive professional, durable insulation solutions that meet industry standards and regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Measuring, cutting, and fitting insulation materials to pipes of varying sizes and configurations
- Installing thermal insulation cladding systems using industry-approved techniques and materials
- Ensuring all insulation work meets relevant safety standards, building codes, and client specifications
- Working safely at heights and in confined spaces when necessary, adhering to all health and safety protocols
- Collaborating with other tradespeople and site teams to ensure project timelines are met
- Inspecting completed work to ensure quality standards are maintained
- Maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition
- Following all site-specific safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Pipe Lagger, Cladder, or someone willing to learn thermal insulation and metal cladding
- Proficiency in measuring, cutting, and fitting various insulation materials and metal cladding
- Knowledge of cladding installation techniques, including metal sheeting and jacketing systems
- Competency with hand and power tools commonly used in insulation work
- Understanding of thermal properties and insulation principles relevant to industrial applications
- A current, valid driver's licence for travel to multiple job sites
- A strong commitment to health and safety practices, with ability to work safely at heights and in challenging environments
- Physical fitness and ability to perform repetitive manual tasks and lift heavy materials
- Relevant certifications or qualifications (such as a White Card or First Aid certification) are advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow technical specifications and drawings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
