An exciting expansion is currently underway, increasing capacity to eight operating theatres and two additional procedural rooms, alongside enhanced interventional radiology and cardiology services. Collaboration is central to the department’s approach, with anaesthetists working closely alongside surgeons, nursing teams, and allied health professionals to ensure safe, coordinated, and patient-centred care. Dedicated pre-admission clinics, as well as acute and chronic pain services, further enhance perioperative support.
The service plays a pivotal role in regional obstetric care, delivering anaesthetic support for labour and delivery, including epidural services and emergency caesarean sections.
