We are currently recruiting Casual Community Access Support Workers to support an adult participant living with psychosocial and physical disabilities.

The participant experiences:

Psychosocial disability

Physical disability

Mental health challenges, including periods of suicidal ideation

Reduced mobility requiring community-based support

Supports are delivered within the community and focus on promoting independence, reducing social isolation, improving wellbeing, attending appointments, and supporting the participant to achieve their NDIS goals.

About the Role

Roster & Hours

- Monday to Friday

- 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

- Ongoing weekly roster

This participant is seeking a stable, reliable support worker who can commit to the ongoing weekday roster and build a long-term therapeutic relationship.

Understanding the Participant

The participant is friendly, easy-going,



and enjoys connecting with people and participating in the community. They value support workers who are patient, compassionate, respectful, and genuinely interested in helping them achieve their goals.

Due to the participant's psychosocial disability, there are periods where they may experience low mood or suicidal thoughts. Applicants are not expected to provide clinical mental health care but must be confident supporting the participant in accordance with their support plans, organisational policies, and escalation procedures when required.

The successful applicant will understand the importance of:

- Building trust through consistency.

- Providing encouragement and emotional support.

- Respecting participant choice and independence.

- Remaining calm, supportive, and non-judgemental.

- Maintaining qualified boundaries while developing positive rapport.

Reliability and consistency are highly valued, as regular support workers help provide routine, stability, and positive outcomes for the participant.

Key Responsibilities

As a Community Access Support Worker, you will:

- Support the participant to access the community safely and confidently.

- Assist with appointments, shopping, and recreational activities.

- Promote independence, wellbeing, and community participation.





- Encourage social connection and healthy routines.

- Follow support plans and risk management strategies.

- Complete accurate shift notes and documentation.

- Work collaboratively with the participant, family, and allied health professionals where required.

What We're Looking For

Successful applicants will demonstrate:

- Experience supporting participants with psychosocial disabilities or mental health conditions.

- Experience supporting participants with physical disabilities.

- A calm, patient, compassionate, and non-judgemental approach.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- The ability to build positive therapeutic relationships.

- Reliability, professionalism, and commitment to an ongoing roster.

- An understanding of person-centred, recovery-oriented practice.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

- Current Blue Card.

- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.

- Current Australian Driver's Licence.

- Reliable vehicle with Comprehensive or Third-Party Property Insurance.
