Altitude Investment Builders is a Brisbane-based residential builder operating exclusively in the investment sector, delivering quality homes for property investors. The company is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator/Estimating Manager to lead its estimating function, reporting directly to the Managing Director.

About the Role

The successful candidate will lead estimating across all projects, working with the company's established systems — Databuild for estimating and Onsite Companion for workflow — to deliver accurate, profitable estimates from preliminary plans through to contract.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and authorise quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities and Job Analysis Reports

Maintain the Databuild cost-code catalogue, ensuring pricing remains accurate and current

Conduct technical reviews of preliminary plans and working drawings

Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing

Monitor actual versus budgeted costs, report to management and apply findings to improve future pricing

Prepare and submit quotes and customer proposals on time, factoring in general and special conditions

Lead and mentor the estimating team

Skills and Experience

A minimum of five years' estimating experience in residential construction





Qualifications in construction management, quantity surveying or estimating (or equivalent experience)

Proficiency in Databuild (essential), including ongoing system and data maintenance

Strong capability in cost estimation, Bills of Quantities, material take-offs, budgeting and subcontractor compliance

Strong analytical skills, with a record of identifying cost savings without compromising quality

Excellent written and verbal communication with management, site teams, subcontractors and clients

Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects under deadline pressure

Ethical and detail-oriented, capable of working autonomously and leading a team
